]]> Sun Nov 1 2009 POW in Indonesia: Padangpanjang & Cirebon social & sightseeing http://powensemble.fotopic.net/c1720010.html We played in two beautiful places, Padangpanjang (Sumatra) and Cirebon (middle Java), and luckily had some time to play tourist ;-) Padangpanjang has very typical houses, with pointed roofs. There were many monkeys as well. In Cirebon, we were welcomed by the organisers with excellent food and company. In the morning we went to see the Sultan's palace (16th c) and were transported by bajaks (bicycle taxis). ]]> Thu Jun 11 2009 POW in Indonesia: Jakarta social & sightseeing http://powensemble.fotopic.net/c1719986.html For 9 days we (=Luc & Adri, Guy, Wiek & Tjakina and their daughters Manon & Suze) have stayed in Jakarta, to give workshops, masterclasses and concerts. It is an extremely hectic but fascinating city, with so much traffic that you need to take three times as much time as you should do here for the same distance. Mopeds and cars criss-crossing the streets. All of a sudden this comes to a halt whenever a tropical rain starts to pour. Luc, Guy and Adri went to the old Batavia (Kota) where we saw the wayang museum and were lured into a karaoke show in Cafe Batavia. Fun! See also youtube for movies....
